Spends
Account Deletion
Last updated: May 2, 2026
This page explains how to delete your Spends account and what happens when deletion is completed.
Delete Your Account In The App
You can request account deletion directly in the Spends app:
- Open Spends.
- Sign in with the Google Account connected to your Spends account.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Security and Privacy.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm the deletion prompt.
When the request succeeds, Spends logs you out and returns you to the sign-in screen.
If You Cannot Access The App
If you cannot access the app, email trackspends.app@gmail.com from the Google email address connected to your Spends account.
Use the subject line: Spends account deletion request
Include:
- The Google email address used with Spends.
- A short note saying that you want your Spends account deleted.
We may ask you to verify account ownership before processing the request.
What Is Deleted
Account deletion is intended to permanently delete Spends account data associated with your account, including:
- Your Spends user profile, such as name, email address, user identifier, and profile photo URL if stored.
- App authentication tokens and refresh tokens stored by Spends.
- Bank and card alert sender records that you added or selected.
- Parsed transaction records created from bank or credit card alert emails.
- Manually added spends.
- Spend categories, category colors, shared amounts, credit card bill markers, and related expense organization data.
- Gmail-related server data and caches maintained by Spends for your account.
Spends is also intended to revoke our Google access where supported. You can separately revoke Spends's access from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
What May Be Retained
After deletion, we may retain limited information only where necessary, such as:
- Security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, or service integrity records.
- Records required by law, regulation, legal process, tax, accounting, dispute handling, or enforcement of our Terms.
- Temporary encrypted backups until they are overwritten or expire through normal backup rotation.
- Aggregated or anonymized information that no longer identifies you.
We do not retain Gmail content for advertising or resale.
Deletion Timeline
In-app deletion requests are submitted immediately. Most account data should be removed when the backend deletion request completes successfully.
Deletion requests sent by email are reviewed and processed after we verify account ownership. We aim to complete verified email deletion requests within 30 days unless a longer period is required by law, security review, backup rotation, or dispute handling.
Removing Local Data From Your Device
After deleting your account, you can also remove local app data by:
- Logging out of Spends if you are still signed in.
- Uninstalling the Spends app.
- Clearing app storage from your device settings, where supported.
Deleting local app data from your device does not by itself delete your server-side Spends account. Use the in-app deletion flow or email request above to delete the account.
Revoking Google Access
Deleting your Spends account is intended to revoke Spends's Google access where supported. You can also revoke access manually:
- Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Select Spends.
- Choose Remove Access.
After access is revoked, Spends can no longer read Gmail through your Google Account unless you sign in and grant access again.
